Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet
School emphasizes basic academics. Reading, English
(including grammar, spelling, penmanship, and composition
skills), and mathematics are stressed with a solid
curriculum in science and social studies. Connections
courses are included, but basics receive priority. Students
receive instruction, drill, review, and memorization aimed
at mastery of the basic skills.Parental involvement, which is
reflective of the entire student body, starts when a student
is enrolled. Because parents sign a contract, they know they
are a key ingredient to the success of the school's programs
and they understand that successful operation of the school
is a joint process that rests on a mutual cooperative
relationship.
