Charter System Information
The Dougherty County School System was approved by the state board of Education to become a Charter System in 2016. This designation will create opportunities for autonomous flexibility at the school level for all schools in Dougherty County. Our schools will have more freedom to innovate, exercise local school governance and gain broad community support to improve student achievement. For any questions or feedback, please call 229.483.6300 ext. 5450
It's the goal of the DCSS to provide resources, information and tools to help the public to understand and support the district's implementation of its charter.
Local School Governance Team Information
Each school is required to have a team of school personnel, parents, and community leaders who meet regularly to exercise school-level governance and monitor the goals of the school improvement plan in an effort to increase student achievement and school improvement. This team serves as advocates for their respective schools and makes recommendations to the superintendent.
