The Dougherty County School System has provided opportunities for our students to recover from learning loss due to COVID-19 school closures during the summer months.  In order to provide students with extended learning opportunities beyond the regular school year, we will continue offering the RACE to Learn Summer Learning Program for all students. 

RACE is an acronym that means we will work to maximize opportunities to learn for every student through Remediation, Acceleration, Credit-Recovery, Enrichment and Social-Emotional Supports: We’ll be posting Summer Learning information on our social media accounts using #DCSSRACE2Learn.

We are excited about the opportunities that will be available to our students with this initiative, but above all else, we are confident that these opportunities will ensure that we create various avenues to success for each student in our district. Some important information about the program:  

  • There is one session for students in grades K-12:

    • June 1  - June 29

  • All schools will be offering summer learning classes through this program.

  • All instruction will be done in-person.  There are no options for virtual learning.

  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

  • Sessions start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m. each day, Monday - Friday. 

    • Please note that the last day for students, June 29, is on a Thursday.

  • Children must attend their zoned school or approved magnet location.

  • Transportation will be provided.

  • All students in grades K-12 are eligible to attend.
