Westover Academic Decathlon team

Albany, GA - Westover High School again claimed  the top spot as the overall winner of the district's Academic Decathlon competition recently. 

The competition pits students from DCSS high schools against one another in various academic fields. As the district winner, the team from Westover will go on to represent the district at the state competition in February.

The PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon, which began in 1987, focuses on the importance of developing well-rounded individuals and provides an antidote to intellectual apathy and underachievement. This program provides incentive for average students, underachieving students, above-average students as well as academically talented students, to become interested in intellectual activities. Georgia Academic Decathlon opens the door to academic achievement for all students.

The PAGE Georgia Academic Decathlon 2024 State Competition is currently scheduled as a hybrid competition. The Essay and Art events will take place online on February 7-8.  State Competition (Round 3) will take place on February 22-24.
