ALBANY, Ga.– Dr. Jennifer Clark and Kimberly Holsey, 8th grade science teachers at Robert A. Cross Middle Magnet School, were honored by Dougherty County School System Superintendent Kenneth Dyer and the Dougherty County Board of Education at a meeting on Monday, September 11 for their outstanding work in the classroom. Their students had the second highest scores in the state for their content area on the Georgia Milestones Assessment last year, missing the top spot by only 1 point.
“I just want to say thank you and congratulations on that remarkable achievement” Dyer told the two at the board meeting. “Thank you Dr. Chunn for your leadership and the entire team for showing your support for your colleagues here tonight and, most importantly, supporting your students.”
The two teachers were given certificates and the first-ever DCSS challenge coin in honor of their work. The challenge coin is a military tradition that is often given to recognize outstanding achievement.
Dr. Clark and Ms. Holsey are both certified science teachers. Holsey is in her first year at Robert Cross while Dr. Clark is in her second year teaching 8th grade Science. They are passionate about teaching science and inspiring their students to learn.
The two teachers are committed to providing their students with the best possible education. They are constantly looking for new and innovative ways to teach science.
