ALBANY - The Dougherty County School System's director of Career, Technical and Agriculture Education (CTAE) Department was recently part of an esteemed panel invited to speak on issues related to the Albany-Dougherty County community. 

Hosted by DCSS partner Albany-Area Chamber of Commerce, "the State of the Community provides a platform for leaders from various sectors to delve into matters of utmost significance to the community. In a panel format, esteemed experts shared insights, vision and strategies on these topics," according to a release on the organization's website. 

Dr. Heather Corbett, who recently spearheaded the district's move to realign CTAE career pathways to make them both more relevant to students and better able to meet the workforce demands of local industry, was able to speak on how the district has made collaboration with local industry a priority so that our students have real opportunities at entering the workforce better prepared for their future.
