Bobbit

ALBANY, GA – Lakisha Bobbitt, an administrator with roots in secondary education, has been named by the Dougherty County Board of Education as the new principal at Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts.

Bobbitt will replace outgoing principal Steven Dudley who has accepted a position as the executive director for Alternative Education with the district.

I’m pleased that Ms. Bobbitt has agreed to join the DCSS team. She is widely respected as a committed and effective educational leader, with a track record for excellent results. I look forward to her arrival, and I’m excited about what she has to offer the students, faculty and staff as they work together to build upon the recent progress at Radium Middle.

Currently the principal of the South Tattnall Middle School, Bobbitt got her start in public education in 2006 as an English and Journalism teacher at Americus-Sumter High School in Americus. She also served as an educator in Peach, Tattnall and Houston Counties before being named assistant principal at Southeast Bulloch High School in Bulloch County. She previously served as assistant principal at Baldwin High School before being named principal of Tattnall County High School in 2020.

“I am honored to be appointed as the next principal of Radium Springs Middle Magnet School of the Arts. I do not stand alone in this charge. I stand with a collective of staff, students, parents, and community. As a school family we must stay the course and enjoy the journey because the well-being of our children is worth every step taken. I look forward to joining a team that has a growth mindset and is fit for the mission at hand,” Bobbitt said. “The vision is clear, the work is necessary, and success is imminent. I am fortunate for the opportunity to impact the RSMMSA Panther culture!”

She’s a former teacher of the year at both Tattnall County High School and Peach County High School; she also was named Peach County High School’s Star Teacher in 2014.
