Lamar Reese student poses beside "who was the human computer for NASA" diorama

Students from across the Dougherty County School System pitched their projects to judges recently to see whose presentations and topics would lift them into the regional competition in March.

Students from every grade cluster present their projects to judges who evaluate various aspects of the student’s knowledge of their topic. This year, the winners will represent the DCSS on the Region Social Studies Fair on March 7, at the Houston County Board of Education in Perry. The top 16 winners in the region will move on to the state competition.

The cluster winners are:

Class I: (Grades 5 and 6)

1st Place: Derion Cubbage (Lamar Reese)

2nd Place: Cadence Allen (Lamar Reese)

3rd Place: Lorelei Urick (Lake Park)

Honorable Mention: Na’Talyah Clements (Lincoln)
