We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Reading Divas event on January 14! The event will occur at the SAES Media Center, and the time will vary according to your child's Special schedule.
We are excited to announce the start of our Extended Learning Program! The Extended Day Program will begin on January 14, 2025, and run until April 12, 2025, every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Due to the weather, including cold temperatures and the possibility of wet or icy roads, Saturday School is canceled. We will resume as scheduled on January 25th.

2025 READBowl Kickoff is tomorrow during Specials. We will kickoff this 4 week global reading competition with an oral reading of The Magician's Hat by Malcolm Mitchell.

West Town Elementary School won the Albany Regional Elementary Robotics Tournament Championship Saturday, capping a strong showing by Dougherty County School System schools.
It's the school's first robotics championship.
Additionally, Sherwood Acres Elementary School was second in robot performance and robot design for Tournament A, with Lake Park Elementary winning the core values award.
For Tournament B, Turner Elementary School won for robot performance and core values with Alice Coachman Elementary winning the innovative project award.
West Town, Sherwood, Turner and Alice Coachman will advance to the super regional tournament early in 2025.

Staff members who had perfect attendance for the month of September were celebrated with some cool refreshing lemonade slushies from NoShade Lemonade! Always delicious!
Several of our students submitted their artwork to the 2024 Georgia Radon Poster Contest. This contest serves to raise awareness of the harmful effects of elevated
