ATLANTA, Ga. -- Westover Comprehensive High School is again among the top schools who administer the Advanced Placement exam, state officials said Tuesday.
Westover has been named a 2024 AP Honor School. The 2024 AP Honor Schools are named in eight categories based on the results of 2023 AP courses and exams.
AP exams are administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. AP courses are one of several ways Georgia students can access college-level learning at the high school level; students who receive a 3, 4, or 5 on an AP exam may receive college credit. GaDOE began recognizing AP Honor Schools in 2008.
Westover was named a 2024 AP Expansion School. Expansion schools are AP schools with 25% growth in AP student participation from May 2022 to May 2023 and a minimum of 25 students testing in May 2022.
